He was the first Asian to win a Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930. Yes! CV Raman made history and left everyone contemplated for bringing the best possible changes in the world. The victory is not the only success story; there are many leading researchers in Indian society who made a change and became the talk of everyone’s mouth.
Be it the discovery of the Crescograph or the launch of India’s first satellite ‘Aryabhatta’, Indian researchers have shown how the world of inventions is always evolving. Let’s know about some of the famous researchers in Indian history who have made their presence felt in the field of innovation.
Homi J. Bhabha
The first person who became the chairman of Atomic Energy Commision of India,
Homi J. Bhabha, kick-started his career in nuclear physics in Britain. He has played a spright role in Quantum theory and helped India to know how the production of an atomic reactor can lower down the pain of poverty in the country.
Bhabha is known as the father of nuclear power in India. However, he was against the production of atomic bombs in India. In 1966, he died in an Air crash near Mont Blanc, which was assumed as a cause of conspiracy by CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) to end nuclear program in India.
Venkatraman Radhakrishnan
Born in 1929, Venkatraman Radhakrishnan is renowned for his contributions as a space scientist. He was a famous Astrophysicist and was known worldwide for his designs and production style of light weighed aircrafts and boats.
Not only this, Radhakrishnan has thrown light on various concepts and contemplations like interstellar clouds, structure of galaxy, and many more concepts related to celestial bodies. He was 81 when he died in Bangalore leaving many fellow researchers to work on his studies.
Vikram Sarabhai
Vikram Sarabhai is known as the Father of India’s space programme. Born in 1919, this Gujarat born Padma Bhushan winner convinced the government of India to give a thought about a space programme for building nation and helping it in development. He was active in setting ISRO (Indian Space Research organisation).
He died in 1972, but left many more space programmes to get launched without hassles.
Sálim Moizuddin Abdul Ali

Sálim Moizuddin Abdul Ali or should we say, the Birdman of India, has been the main person behind Bombay Natural History Society past 1947. He has been awarded with Padma Vibhushan in 1976.
These are a few names of many renowned researchers born in India. They have shown the world how and why India is not behind anyone when it comes to the field of science and research. India has been blessed with great minds like these and the list of such minds is never ending. Such scientists and their inventions work as inspiration to many young minds today and will be motivating many in the long run.
